TAMARA Ecclestone has vowed to stop breastfeeding daughter Sophia when she’s four and a half
The Formula 1 heiress has previously been criticised for continuing to breastfeed the youngster as she grows up.
She has now revealed it’s almost time for her to kick the habit for good,
Tamara, 34, says she’s aiming to stop breastfeeding Sophia by the time she turns four and a half in September so she’s got just two months left.
Speaking to magazine editor Jo Elvin on her weekly podcast Is It Just Me?, Tamara explained that she still breastfeeds her daughter “three or four times a week” in the evenings to help her fall asleep.
The socialite, who’s married to Jay Rutland, said: “I think the end is pretty close because now it’s something that’s just at night times and it’s not even every night.
“It’s when she’s really tired – a comfort thing – or when she’s maybe a bit under the weather.
“So I definitely think that, probably after the summer, she’ll be done.
“It’s very natural and I don’t feel like it’s been forced or it’s abrupt.
“I feel completely ready and I think that it’s because it’s her decision.
“It’s the end of something that’s been such a big part of our lives.”
She has previously sparked a fierce parenting debate over her decision to continue breastfeeding her daughter.
She even showed it on her TV show Tamara’s World last year.
However, she has shrugged off the criticism, adding on the podcast: “I don’t mind being abused for something that I think is the right thing.
“And sometimes in life you’ve got to just stand up for what you believe in because not enough people do that.”

Last year, she revealed she still nurses Sophia, who she calls Fifi, four times a day and vowed to continue until the youngster has had enough.
She told Hello! Magazine: “I never want to battle, to feel I’ve taken something away from her, so when she decides she is done, it will be the end of that era…
“You know your child and you have to do what works for you as a family.”
