TAMARA Ecclestone has begged brother-in-law James Stunt to be civil and stop publicly criticising her family.
The daughter of ex Formula One boss Bernie says the estranged husband, 35, of sister Petra, 29, needs to stop “slinging mud” at her loved ones.
It comes after she blasted him on Instagram when he labelled her dad a “dwarf”.
Speaking at Dan Baldwin: A New Optimism last night, Tamara, 33, told the Sun’s Bizarre column: “I’m very, very protective of my family so my knee jerk reaction was to lash out a little bit. But with that being said I think that to be civil is the best for everyone involved and I think we should all take that approach.
“Obviously my sister has been through a lot. I think moving forward everyone needs to be civil. There are children involved and there’s no point slinging mud and it doesn’t get anyone anywhere.
“I get that people lash out when they’re hurt and they’re angry but those are my niece and nephews and I would never say anything negative about their dad because I wouldn’t want them read that one day.”
Petra and ex James have had a messy divorce which was settled in October after six years of marriage.
The divorce proceedings were not short of controversy and Mr Stunt was even accused of making a ‘gun gesture’ to Petra’s father Bernie, 87, at one point.
While no details of the settlement were released, it was reported that James signed a £16 million prenuptial agreement.
He recently apologised to Petra for labelling her “a horrible human being”, the ex-F1 boss for calling him “an evil dwarf” and her mum Slavica, 59, for saying she was “Lady Macbeth”.
James also reportedly claimed he lost “social standing” by marrying “a C-list celebrity’s daughter”.
The Tamara’s World star furiously hit back defending her family saying: “What kind of a ‘man’ does this on his daughter’s birthday. Unless he stops telling lies about my family we will have to start telling the truth about him.”
She revealed she gets very defensive when her family is publicly criticised.
Tamara told the Sun: “We’re really, really good. My family is the most important thing in my life. We’re like so, so close.

“Sometimes when you see things initially you get really, really angry. But to be honest when you have time to think about things and reflect you realise that we’re all adults, we’re grown up and it’s good to deal with things with a cool head. So I’ve learnt as well.
“There’s five years between us and growing up of course we used to fight and bicker but we are so, so close. You can have a million friends but there’s nothing like having a sister.
“I trust her with everything. She’s the best aunt to my Sofia. She always asks for her. Her kids are really close.”
